When working with table and matrix visuals in Power BI, it is very common to end up with white space on the right side of the visual. Before this setting existed, the only option was to manually drag and resize every column, which never resulted in consistent widths and took a lot of time.
In this video, I show a setting I have been waiting for for a long time: Grow to fit. This option automatically expands the columns of a table or matrix visual to fill the available space of the visual container. When you make the visual wider or narrower, the columns resize accordingly.
I walk through where to find this setting in the format pane, what the difference is between Fit to content and Grow to fit, and how it behaves in both a matrix visual and a table visual using a profit and loss example.
