Sony is Preparing for PS5 Pro - 8K Badge Removed

If you purchased a brand new PS5 up until a few months ago, you probably noticed the big “8K” logo on the box. Well, Sony ended up scrubbing the 8K part, which some console warriors have only just noticed. A thread about the removal has since gone viral, resulting in some bizarre conspiracy theories.
“PS5 is compatible with 8K displays at launch, and after a future system software update will be able to output resolutions up to 8K when content is available, with supported software,” Sony wrote in PS5’s big FAQ in November 2020.
The company never claimed anything beyond the above, and the removal of 8K from the box doesn’t really change anything. We don’t claim to know why Sony updated the box, but it’s presumably because it doesn’t look like any developer will be releasing 8K content anytime soon… not in this generation, at least.
“It is false advertising and Sony should be sued for it,” wrote one user on X. “Yeah, because they will transfer it [8K claim] to the PS5 Pro [box],” wrote a Redditor.

Weird Way to Fix Your DualSense
Here's the issue I had: the DualSense controller's Triangle button simply wouldn't respond. The rest of the controller would activate and work perfectly, but the Triangle button behaved as if it wasn't wired into the controller correctly. It had worked fine for nearly two years by this point. Then, apropos of nothing, it had suddenly stopped working. It still sat in its usual spot in the controller fine and didn't feel like it had been knocked loose.
Before sending it away for repairs (which I've gotten used to as my DualShock 4 controllers constantly had stick drift issues), I decided to check online for any solutions folks may have found. I found one solution in a Reddit thread from 2023 lurking in a post written by user "Character_Ad_2733."
In the post, the user suggested throwing the DualSense controller "on the floor over and over" would fix the Triangle button issue. Of course, I wasn't born yesterday, so I immediately presumed it wouldn't work. That was until I saw responses below singing the Reddit user's praises. You can see some of that praise in the embedded screenshot below — it leaves quite an impression.
At this point, I was thinking that either the internet had conspired to punk me in 2024, or somehow this ridiculous solution actually worked. I bit the bullet, warned my girlfriend I was about to slam my expensive PS5 controller loudly against the ground a few times and got to work. The broken Triangle button on my PS5 controller began to work after just three slams.
