Body aspect
Exercise can strengthen the bones and muscles. The movements in Yijinjing can invigorate the Meridians, the limbs, the pores in the skin, the tendons and the ligaments holding the vertebra and joints, increase muscle tone and flexibility, and improve range flexion and extension of the spine. Every movement in Yijinjing requires spinning and turning; the key for the movements is thecombination of looseness and tightness to perform traction and counter-traction on the muscles and the joints, to massage the organs, remove the stagnation and promote the generation of new cells, to facilitate the circulation of qi and blood.
Maintain flexibility of the blood vessels by loosening the lipid peroxides that are attached on blood vessels to prevent atherosclerosis. The bursa in the joint is extended to promote the metabolism of synovial fluids. The reticular structure in the bones is tightened through the stimulation of flexion and extension in the exercise; which is the best way to prevent osteoporosis. Yijinjing can effectively stimulate the muscles, blood vessels, and lymphatic system to promote metabolism and facilitate the elimination of toxins from the body. Illness isreduce d and the body is strengthened, as body function is improved.
The Meridians
Other than using the “mind” to move the circulation in the meridians, Yijinjing focuses on the traction of the extremities in the practice, as the twelve Jing-well points that start from the tip of the fingers and toes, and the twelve
muscle regions that start from the end of the limbs. In terms of physiological
structures, it stimulates the blood circulation in the extremities, trains the muscles
at the tip, and enhances nerve conductivity. In terms of the Meridians, Yijinjing
can initiate the circulation of qi and blood in the Meridians and strengthen the
function of the Meridians and the tendons.
