☀️ See you at the Knit Eat & Co yarn arts fair from October 3rd to 5th! I hope to see you there! I'll be hosting 9 public talks with designers: it's going to be great fun! ☀️
Today, Aurélie, the designer behind the knitting pattern brand Une poule à petits pas (A Hen with Small Steps), is on the mic! She'll tell us about her discovery of knitting, introduced by her grandmother, and the path she followed to gradually turn her passion for knitting into her profession, or at least part of it! She'll also talk about the role knitting plays in her life, the specifics of modern knitting, her creative approach to designing her patterns, and the joys and challenges of being self-employed!
And for members of the Handmade Club, you can listen to Aurélie for another thirty minutes! I asked her loads of questions to get started with knitting, like which yarn brands to choose, what equipment to use, which patterns to make, etc. She also shares some reading and food recommendations and gives us her take on artificial intelligence in design.
