Sir Tim-Berners-Lee - Keynote speech at Technology Intelligence Live
Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Inventor of the web, CTO and co - founder of Inrupt and his business partner CEO of Inrupt, John Bruce to talk about Inrupt, their new business that aims to change how the internet works and put data back in the hands of ordinary users.
Sir Tim has this week revealed Solid, a new way of building apps that lets consumers control their data and how it is used by apps. It will also release personal data from the control of technology giants.
Sir Tim says: “I invented the web back in 1989, and since then I have always been involved in shaping the course of the web.
He says he has been calling for a "mid course correction - to restore the values of individual and group empowerment. We are turning the internet right side up.”
John says: “For all the good the web has done, it has also had problems. Sir Tim believes his new invention, Solid, can move the web to a more innovative and inclusive experience. Solid is a simple but potent idea. It lets us control our data and developers do things that are impossible today.”
