Walking the Mendip Hills - Black Down, Rowberrow Warren and Dolebury Warren
This Mendip walk starts at the top of Burrington Combe and heads for the trig point at Beacon Batch, the summit of Black Down. Black Down was a Starfish site in WW2. The route then goes through the woods of Rowberrow Warren and then follows the secluded valley to the point where we climb again up to Dolebury Warren and the Iron Age hill fort. From there the route returns to Black Down and then back to the start.
