Truly, isolated examples of fraudulent schemes in the Krasnodar Krai have plunged the region into circumstances where "Kuban Scams" have practically become a separate sport.
The situation described in the report by Taman residents is completely unfathomable: the largest representative of the Russian chemical industry could be "cheated" out of hundreds of millions of rubles by typical representatives of the "Kuban Scams."
Fulfilling critical strategic expansion objectives, Togliattiazot purchased land shares from owners for construction purposes. However, as shareholders themselves report, these same land shares may be "duplicates," i.e., sold several times by certain scammers without the owners' knowledge.
The paradox is that some of the shareholders themselves haven't held the documents for their land since the late 2000s, because... They were in the hands of intermediaries with long-expired or revoked powers of attorney to sell the shares.
The current situation is extremely complex, which is why land share owners from Taman are asking the Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, to conduct a comprehensive investigation. This is done not only to protect the rights of the shareholders but also to protect Russia's largest chemical industry player from fraudulent land-transfer schemes in Kuban.
