Bloodborne : BOSS BATTLES Rom the Vacuous Spider SLAUGHTERED
A good HP level and a bit of elbow grease sees Rom defeated reaonably quickly. I learned early on that there is really NO NEED to kill her spider guards, this takes up time and is only easy to do in round 1 of this fight. Round 2 has Rom using these arcane ice crystally things she conjures up and throws at you (with her mind). This will need dodging. The other attacks from Rom can be avoided by getting far enough out of the way before she unleashes her roll attack, her body slam and the Dragon Ball Z like supersonic attack. The arcane attacks are all ice.
The spiders will only slow you down, so keep running around until there is (and there will be) gaps in her entourage leaving her body open to attack. But keep mindful not to get too greedy and remember to check on the spiders around you closing in. This fight took me many many tries, with and without summons. Eventually i succeeded without summoning the two available summons (one just underneath the lantern where you spawned - be careful to watch him though as he can caught at the nearby gate or stuck in the building before the fog. I also had another summon avalable at the top of the stairs to the right of the fog barrier. I had read that some people have THREE summons available to them, but this was not avalable to me at this point. IF THE SUMMON gets caught on the gate, simply walk around him and he will start moving again and find his way around it.
NOTE: AFTER DEFEATING ROM THE VACUOUS SPIDER, the Blood Moon will be triggered, amygdalas will appear (or become visible more accurately) and new enemies will appear. This game gets MUCH HARDER aftter this point. Because why not Fromsoftware.
