From the Streets of Cleveland to Hip-Hop Royalty. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, a name synonymous with fast-paced flows, soulful harmonies, and introspective lyrics, emerged from the rough streets of Cleveland Ohio, in early 1991. Started as a collective of five young men – Layzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, Krayzie Bone, and Flesh-n-Bone – all bound by a shared passion for music and a desire to escape their harsh realities.
This move proved pivotal. Ruthless Records, known for launching the careers of N.W.A. and Dr. Dre, provided Bone Thugs with the platform and resources they needed to reach a national audience. Eazy-E, recognizing their potential, became a mentor, guiding them through the industry.
In 1994 they released their Debut EP on Ruthless Records called ‘Creeping on a Come Up”. The EP featured production by DJ Yella and Rhythum D, with Eazy-E serving as the executive producer. This album produced singles like ”Foe the Love of Money” and “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” which immediately went Platinum.
One year later, they released their sophomore album, East 1999 Eternal. This critically acclaimed album cemented their place in hip-hop history. Tracks like "1st of tha Month," a celebratory anthem about payday, and "East 1999," a haunting reflection on street life, became cultural touchstones. "Tha Crossroads," a heartfelt tribute to Eazy-E and other loved ones who had passed away, became one of their most iconic songs. Its poignant lyrics and soulful melody struck a chord with listeners, and the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, earning the group widespread acclaim and numerous awards.

Layzie Bone, the self-proclaimed leader, emerged as the most commercially viable, while Bizzy Bone's erratic behavior and unpredictable flow sometimes overshadowed his talent.
In recent years, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have embraced their Cleveland roots more than ever. They've performed at local venues, participated in community events, and even partnered with Cleveland Cavaliers to create a limited-edition clothing line. This renewed connection to their hometown has resonated with fans, both old and new.
Over the years, Bone Thugs have released 11 studio albums and 4 compilation albums spawning over 23 charting singles. They have been nominated and won multiple awards including, Grammys, American Music Awards and Soul Train Awards.
