/ About
"Swimming" is the first single from Ward's new album, "Bring Me Low", focused on depression, mental health and the struggle that independent musicians face trying to find a meaningful place for their music today. 1 in 5 Americans(a) and 73% of independent musicians(b) worldwide live with mental illness. “Today’s music landscape makes it hard for artists to make ends meet. We struggle to stay healthy and positive,” Ward explains.” Ward explains. “I can’t think of a more important thing to sing about than this struggle I witness every day.” A percentage of all Ward's earnings support NAMI.org, a non-profit focused on providing help to millions of Americans who face mental illness every day.

/ Lyrics
I went swimming
In a world inside my mind
I, I went spinning
And I’m swirling out of time

I don’t what to say
Which way is Up?
I don't know how to make this feeling stop
When you're gone

I don’t know how to really change my luck
Don’t got no key to break the lock
When the flood rushes on

I don’t know what make of feeling
stuck — I don’t got no way to toughen up
When you’re gone

I’m swimming
I’m swimming
I’m swimming
Under
Under the breaking waves
They won’t be breaking me

I went swimming
And the shore is out of sight
So why is it beginning
To blur between the lines?

I don’t know what make of feeling stuck
I don’t got no way to toughen up
When you’re gone

I don’t know what will make me feel enough
I don’t got no way to feel at
All when the flood rushes on

I’m swimming
I’m swimming
I’m swimming
Under
Under the breaking waves
They won’t be

I’ll get better
Pretty as ever
Alone I learn to float

It's hard up there
To feel again
When it pours out from my throat

We all have brittle and bad dreams
But I’m in the middle of stirring things
And I not giving up anything
In all the wars to come

I’m swimming
I’m swimming
I’m swimming
Under
Under the breaking waves
They won’t be breaking me
Under the breaking waves
They won’t be breaking me

I don’t know what make of feeling stuck
I don’t got no way to toughen up
When you’re gone

I don’t know how to say which way is up
I don't know how to make this feeling stop
When you’re gone
