The new rising open-source standard for 3D formats is called glTF and we are developing the right exporter for it.
Its modularization should enable scalability to any CAD system and make exporting CAD models to 3D applications as easy as possible.
With the glTF file format, geometry and structure as well as materials, animations and adapted information can be mapped. This means that Product Lifecycle Management can be transferred consistently to all other 3D applications.
This project is currently under development.
