According to reports, Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu, will be released during the Diwali season this year. “The teaser of the most awaited film of the year, Rajkumar Hirani's directorial Dunki starring Shah Rukh Khan might arrive in the Diwali season. Raju sir is planning to release the Dunki teaser on Diwali and is planning to start working on the same at the earliest,” the sources informed.
It's also possible that the teaser will be attached to Maneesh Sharma's Tiger 3, which stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif and is set to release around Diwali. There has been no official confirmation of this as of yet.
The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, also stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal in significant roles. In April, the film's producers took to social media to announce the film's release date via a hilarious video of SRK and Hirani in which the Pathaan actor is seen appreciating the filmmaker's films before the director offers him the film. The plot of the film revolves around the concept of illegal immigration via the 'Donkey Flight' method, which has sparked interest since its release. Dunki is set to hit theatres on December 22nd, 2023.
A very close friend of SRK reveals, “I believe they are looking at the possibility of moving Dunki to early next year. This year SRK’s Pathaan and Jawan are record-breaking blockbusters. A third film makes no sense. Better to wait a few months, give SRK fans some pause to absorb the twin successes. Let’s not forget Pathaan and Jawan still have a long way to go. While Pathaan has started streaming on Prime Video, Jawan will begin streaming not before November. This means the SRK fever will be prevalent right till the end of the year. Dunki will only be more of the same. Besides, SRK will have no release next year if Dunki too is released this year.”
While the final decision is yet to be taken on whether Dunki moves ahead to 2024 or not, the possibility of this eventuality is very strong.
