In this video, Jason Nascone, M.D., Professor of orthopedics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine discusses one of his specialties -- the correction of limb deformities. The practice offers treatment for short limbs, uneven limbs and fractures that have not healed correctly. He also treats children with growth abnormalities that led to deformities. Correcting the bone usually involves making a cut in the bone using plates and screws or an external fixator, a frame that goes on the outside of the leg that gradually corrects the deformity using a computer-assisted program.
