Double-Balloon Enteroscopy | Cincinnati Children's
This medical animation illustrates the use of double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE), which enables physicians to navigate deeper into the small intestine than standard endoscopy. This advanced technique facilitates the removal of polyps in hard-to-reach areas of the small intestine and provides access to the bile and pancreatic ducts. It is particularly valuable for performing ERCP in patients with altered anatomy due to previous surgical procedures.
