This segment of Tat-Stories comes from the Golden State Tattoo Expo in Pasadena CA, thanks Nikko for the invite. In this segment of Tat-Stories we've been blessed with 3 interviews and we think they are all dynamite.
Our first interview is with Stefano Alcantara - one of the best tattoo artists in the worlds. Stefano comes west for the Golden State every year even though he has shops in NYC, Miami and two shops in his native Peru (Lima folks) - we love this guy and you will too. Stefano lets us know he started tattooing in 1994 and was the pioneer of tattooing in his country - an honest to goodness South American legend. Stefano let us know he really enjoys evolving as an artist every single day and he really enjoys his voice in throwing down realism ink. Stefano let us know he's a vegan and has been for 14 years and part of the reason is for animal cruelty concerns. How cool is that. We shifted gears to Stefano's experience as a tattoo collector. His forst tattoo was done by a friend at the friend's house. No shops in Lima back then folks. This man is an absolute collector - he now travels to get ink. Stefano dropped several artists names he has tattoos from and they are some heavyweights folks. He told us he waits for their time to open up just like everybody else. He also let us know he hosts the Empire Tattoo Expo in NYC and he invited us to the party in May off 2022.
Our second interview is with Honey - she lives up to it, let's just say - Catholic School girl fantasies gone wild. Honey started us out with her epic hip piece that hits the power theme according to Honey - it's a scripted word SACRIFICE. The old whip on her ass ink was pretty cool too -0 that piece took 7 hours and she laid on her tummy watching Disney movies and felt nothing - wow the house of mouse really is hypnotic. We'll just say you need to see her arm cover-up - great color. Honey closed it out by telling us she wants a tatted up Borat tattoo - now that's unique.
Our third, and final, interview this segment is with Noemi whose there to have some fun. meet some tattoo people and get some bad ass tattoos. Now that's a great reason to be anywhere. Now Mom was there to support Aaron her boyfriend the artist who was doing a great thigh piece on her. Come on Aaron quit making fun of her pain threshold dude. Noemi showed us some great arm work - the color popped and the american traditional pieces rocked. She said she is Aaron's walking portfolio - so why he's giving her shit we could not say other than we know he was kidding. Noemi confided in us that she went to an at home shop to get ink before she met Aaron and she thought those piece were a little ugly. We are into the revolver leg piece Noemi - wow.
