Now, let me tell you more about Microsoft hour of code. Microsoft hour of code is a series of
lectures, courses and talks by experts, who are going to discuss the latest Microsoft technologies,
topics related to programming and industry forecasts that are all focused on employability.
As you know, we are learning fundamentals of HTML5 and CSS3. This is a beginner’s course, for
people pursuing computer science.
It is extremely valuable to understand the fundamentals of web design, if you want to work in the
digital marketing, social media or design. So, we are going to teach the courses and tools that will
help you learn web design faster.
At a minimum, a basic understanding of HTML, CSS and design is essential if you want to do anything
on the web.
If you are not familiar with how websites are built, HTML and CSS provide the fundamental code that
constructs the graphic user interface of the World Wide Web. These episodes have everything you
need to upgrade your skills and start building your own interesting and beautiful websites.
It is obvious, that if you are an undergraduate student pursuing computer science, you might be
having HTML in your syllabus. This course can give you a deeper understanding of the concept. If you

As you know, today we are going to learn HTML5 and CSS3 fundamentals. This content has been
created by our partner Microsoft. We have Bob Tabor from Microsoft who is an expert in HTML and
CSS with us, he is going to talk about everything, you need to know about HTML5 and CSS3.
But, before we start, you need to have a computer system with a 64 bit processor. If you have a
computer with 32 bit processor, that is also fine, but just in case, if a particular programme is of 64
bit, it would not work on a 32 bit computer system. Other required tools are windows notepad and
any web browser such as internet explorer, which need to be installed on your computer system. In
this video, we will build entire web page and learn how to code. (Screen capture).
In the previous episode, we covered series introduction, Creating HTML5 web page, styling HTML5
web page with CSS3 and understanding the HTML5, working with paragraphs and text, in which we
covered coding part, relative path, global attributes, semantic names for classes, defining the
structure of document, working with figures and images, in which we learned defining an image,
working with lists, creating tables. Now we will learn, creating forms and form validation and other
future HTML5 form enhancement.
