Installing Seamless Gutter
We just made seamless gutter the entire length of the warehouse.
First the guys loaded a roll of black aluminum into the gutter machine, and just like magic gutter came out of the other end.
After they rolled out 3 to 4 feet, they installed an end cap that got crimped in place and then caulked.
Next they used an outlet punch to make a hole for the downspout.
Then they installed a rectangular outlet- this got a layer of caulk around the bottom.
Once they got it in place, they put another layer of caulk all over the top- this way there’s no leaks.
At this point, they just kept running out the gutter- We needed a piece 86 feet long.
Once it was the right length, they used the machine to cut it off.
Next they clipped in a gutter hanger every two foot on center.
These hangers use a screw rather than the old-fashioned nails.
These guys definitely have their system down, they installed an 86-foot piece with just two people.
They snapped lines on the fascia as a guide so the gutter would have a ¼” of fall over 8 feet, this way the water runs to the outlets.
Finally, they installed the downspouts- now we’re ready for rain.
I love the way this black gutter looks.
