From the National Film and Sound Archive collection. This is the only known surviving footage from a 1925 silent feature film. The fragments of this support feature were shot on location in Sydney's back streets with kids playing the primary roles. Produced and directed by former Papuan adventurer J.E. Ward, the film was apparently intended to depict urban Australian boyhood with comic strip character Ginger Meggs as the principal role. It was screened by First National, as a support, in the Haymarket Theatre, Sydney on 25 July 1925. These scenes are presented in what is assumed to be the proper running order however no complete copy of the film or script exists.
