This video focuses on how to fix shifting problems while out on the trail when the drive train previously worked properly. Because mountain bike derailleurs are really complicated, addressing most probable causes first can help avoid making the problem worse by attempting to "adjust" things that aren't causing the problem. Each of the fixes I suggest here have been experienced by me, although, it may have taken me a little while to figure them out :-).
This isn't a tutorial on setting up and adjusting a derailleur's limit screws, indexing or shop troubleshooting. If there's enough interest I can do one of those later. It's a straightforward process but can be intimidating in the beginning. In this video, the scenario is that during your ride shifting gets worse and you don't know why.
