What is the difference between Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning?
Hello everyone and welcome to my channel! My name is Nardos and today I'm here to answer an important question: What is the difference between Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning?
Well, Artificial Intelligence or AI usually refers to a computer exhibiting intelligent behavior, meaning it the computer can make decisions normally only done by humans.However, AI is more of a general concept. Inside this concept are different technologies that allow computers to become "smarter".
Machine Learning or ML is one of those technologies and it uses algorithms that enable computers to figure out how to do something without explicit programming. Instead of giving it clear instructions on how to solve a problem, with machines learning we let the machine figure out patterns from data sets itself. That’s why ML is often described as ‘teaching’ computers rather than making them ‘learn’ through programming instructions.
Finally, Deep Learning or DL is an even more advanced form of machine learning. It uses algorithms inspired by the structure and function of our brains – sometimes referred to as ‘Neural Networks’ - in order detect patterns from raw data which then allow it recognize images or audio for example. By doing so they can complete tasks that we as humans would find very hard or complex.
To sum up, while all 3 have overlapping features they are indeed three distinct fields with their own specific goals - AI refers to machines being able to exhibit intelligent behavior; Machine Learning focuses on teaching computers and allowing them figure things out for themselves; whereas Deep Learning consists of highly sophisticated Neural Networks capable of dealing with huge data sets which no human could sift through manually - hence its immense potential in various fields from facial recognition machine translation or drones avoiding obstacles just like humans.
