Recently licensed amateur 'ham' radio operator has been accused of jamming Ambulance Victoria's (AV) radio dispatch system. It is alleged the operator left paramedics unable to access their two-way (RAVNET) radio system for over 12 hours by using his amateur radio equipment to interfere with Victoria’s emergency services communications networks.
While I wouldn't think about doing this myself, we should always be careful in what we do or allow our radio's to do. If you program in the local commercial business just to listen to, always make sure you cannot transmit.
