The Shifters Lyon hosted Alexandre Monnin to discuss closure, abandonment, and ecological redirection:
Abandonment if we don't significantly mitigate climate change (what happens to a ski resort when there's no more snow?)
or abandonment if efforts to mitigate climate change lead to constraints through laws, standards, and significant changes in consumer behavior (what becomes of a refinery in a post-fossil fuel world?)
When and how can we close or abandon in a just way, without leaving anyone behind or creating negative commons?
