This video was a quick turn around where the me and the team go test my Ford Ranger Pro Lite at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino. We were out Pro Lite Testing during the CA wildfires which left the air smokey and overcast. It's been pretty crazy in CA right now with lots of Wildfires and some crazy hot weather.
Testing Pro Lites can be such a difficult task, we literally fight for tenths or even hundredths of a second on lap times. These trucks and the Pro Lite class in general is so competitive you need every little bit you can get!
Typically this video shows how our tests go.. My crew chief, Jimmy, will have made some changes at the shop which we run during an initial session when we get out to the track. Then we'll make some changes to the truck, it could be something as small as a shock adjustment or as big as changing the torque converter. We'll run those changes for another session then crunch the data and see if we went forward (helps decrease lap time) or backwards (increased lap times). Based on the outcome we'll throw more at the truck and change things we think it will help.
All in all we've got my Ford Ranger Pro Lite moving in the right direction meaning FASTER LAP TIMES! We will be putting this truck to the test 9/18-9/20 in Chandler, AZ for rds 6, 7, & 8 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS).
