Hi everyone. I'm Mary [Chaney 00:00:00:02]. Thanks for joining us and our webinar on Converting a FreePBX Appliance to PBXact. Let's get started. So, we're going to discuss some key benefits to converting. One of them being the commercial modules that are available. There is a whole bunch that you get with the conversion from FreePBX to PBXact, software assurance and you're going to be operating on a more secure network. So, we're going to go through a couple quick steps before you do your conversion. First, you will need to have made a purchase for the FreePBX to PBXact conversion, for your FreePBX appliance system from an authorized Sangoma distributor like VoIP supply. Once this purchase has been made, you'll receive confirmation that the order was processed and you can proceed to the setup. There is a special note here, and I want to bring close attention to this, that you need to be on version 10.13.66-18 or newer.

And if you're not, you're going to want to go through these and consecutive upgrades until you get to that version before you do this conversion. Okay, so the next steps that you're going to need to follow. You're going to have to log into an SSH, for this example, we're going to use PuTTY. And once you are logged in to that, you're going to use root user and the following command that you see on the screen. Once we do that, the conversion will happen behind the scenes. There is another command that we can run to verify that everything has passed, but I do recommend you wait a couple minutes. There is a three to four-minute recommendation to wait before you run this, just to make sure that everything on the backend is done.

So, now that we have the steps here, let's get into the actual conversion process. Okay, so now we're going to open up PuTTY here. We got to put our IP address into it, and then we'll open it. Now, we're going to use our commands in here. So, we're going to type in root. Our password is going to be Sangoma. And now, we're going to use our command, fwconsole sa u, which is located back on the slide if you forget when you're doing this. And like I said, you're going to need to give it a couple minutes after we run this, to make sure everything is verified. Before we did this conversion, we also added some call extensions into our FreePBX.
Mary Cheney:
I want to just show you that those call extensions and other call routing that you have set up will maintain and stay the same for you, so you're not going to lose those things. So, now that we have run this, it looks like it's updating and it looks like it ran here. So, we're going to pop over to our browser. And this is what you should see now. We're going to type in, admin, as our username, and the password is admin. And as soon as we go in here and do that, we should see our new interface, [foreign language 00:03:48]. So, one thing I will go in to just show you are our call extensions. There's also a bunch of the advanced modules that you can look at.

There's a ton of stuff that you can play around with one's you're in here. But I do want to highlight the fact that the extensions that were in our original account are still carried over into our PBXact account. And that pretty much wraps up the conversion process.
