I've always used a compact mining layout in Factorio, the goal being to maximize the miners per tile and get the ore out as fast as possible. However, after observing some large patches, I've kind of realized mining a patch isn't necessarily a one size fits all problem.

This book contains a compact setup, as well as a sparer layout that allows for some options when covering the ore patches. The idea being, the smaller the ore patch you are covering, the more compact mining setup you will want to saturate the belt without having a large amount of idle miners.

Kitch's Blueprint book is a series I started to document the common, standard blueprints that I use in my Factorio playthroughs. This is meant to be an interactive series, one where suggestions, critisims and comments on the designs are not only welcomed, they are encouraged. I'll throw out my ideas, listen to your feedback, and hopefully together, we can come up with an optimized, and highly reusable solutions to common Factorio problems.

Hi! I'm Kitch!
I do let's plays of popular (and not so popular) strategy, simulation, survival, base building and roguelike games.

I do my best to provide clean, family friendly content (well, at least as clean and family friendly as the games will let me) that focuses on learning the game, mastering the game, and of course having a lot of fun in the process.

Thanks for watching!
