Fleet Space is building the most advanced satellite in the world and antennas are the most critical component. In this video, learn how they simulate antenna performance using Ansys HFSS - for every scenario, every technical challenge so that they can mitigate risk and have confidence that, once their satellite is launched into space, it will work.
Without an infinite budget or unlimited time for prototyping and testing, Flavia Tata Nardini, CEO & Co-Founder, is clear that “the only way to make sure that we launch and they work, is by doing simulation, all the way through the design process”. Supported by LEAP, HF Electromagnetic simulation helps them to design their antennas faster - helping Fleet Space engineers to gather information on the overall system performance, including individual antenna design, beamforming networks and the performance of the mounted antenna on the satellite.
Zahra Esmati, Senior Antenna Engineer at Fleet Space explains that (compared to physical testing) “you can run simulations as much as you want, which leads you to designing an antenna that gives you the desired performance, rather than waiting and fabricating a prototype antenna and only confirming the results at the last stage of your development process. To consider this many designs without simulation would be impossible!”
