How to change an IP address or IP segment | DHCP or Static | Windows
Some devices come with a static IP address when purchased, and the only way to access them is by changing their configuration through a web browser interface. Similarly, to access devices on a local network, they must be on the same network to exchange files between computers.
DVRs are devices that CCTV security cameras need to record and view in real time. Some of these DVRs come with a static IP address when purchased, and you can only access them using an IP address that is already on the same network segment.
IP security cameras also use this network protocol and require this configuration. While there are programs that can help discover the IP address, they don't allow access to that IP address without being on the same network segment.
