Malaysia Becomes a Joke, Touted to Have Malaysian Blood, But Thomas Poll Doesn't Have Indonesian ...
After failing to recruit Mats Deijl, a Dutch player has emerged who was rumored to have Malaysian ancestry, but it turns out he doesn't. The player actually claims to have Indonesian, not Malaysian, ancestry. Malaysia's ambition to recruit players of Dutch descent continues to face various challenges, especially in its efforts to compete with Indonesia. Despite the failure, Malaysia will not give up and will continue to seek players of Dutch descent to strengthen its national team. Competition with Indonesia and other ASEAN countries for naturalization is heating up in the ASEAN football scene.
