Mixing Better Orchestral Cues Pt. 3/3 - EQ & Compression
Mixing the orchestra relies mainly on EQ and compression - just like all mixing. These are the fundamental tools for mixing and are almost always part of our mixing foundation.
However, mixing orchestral music is a different beast because the instruments and timbres have already been chosen for a reason and they should already be balanced by a good arrangement! EQ and compression are going to be most commonly used with orchestral music in pop and hybrid mixes.
