In this video, we design and simulate a Gas Leakage Detector Circuit using the MQ-2 Gas Sensor in Proteus.
This project demonstrates how to build a gas leakage alarm system that works directly from AC mains power (220V/110V) without using a transformer.
⚡ Power Supply Section
The circuit uses a transformerless capacitive power supply with a bridge rectifier and a 7805 voltage regulator to convert AC mains voltage to 5V DC, which powers the MQ-2 sensor and other components.
🔹 How It Works
The MQ-2 sensor detects gases such as LPG, methane, propane, or smoke.
When leakage is detected, the output activates a BC547 transistor, which drives a speaker alarm to alert users.

MQ-2 Gas Sensor
AC to DC Power Supply (Capacitor + Diodes + 7805 Regulator)

Speaker / Buzzer
