Testing the new Yamaha Harmo 2.0 electric motor
Launched in 2021, the Harmo electric motor is being updated this year with a more compact 2.0 version that is also compatible with the Yamaha Helm Master EX joystick. The Harmo 2.0 is designed as a lower unit: the propeller is enclosed in a protective housing that pivots 140 degrees for maneuverability. This new generation adds several important features, notably compatibility with the Helm Master EX system (autopilot, virtual anchor, etc.). The Harmo 2.0 can be installed as a single or twin-motor unit. Its narrower shape makes it suitable for installation on classic open-hull, wheelhouse, or cabin-cruiser pleasure boats as an auxiliary motor for maneuvering, or for navigating in areas where combustion engines are prohibited (coves, lakes, etc.).
