Fourth video in the RUNNING TECHNIQUE series, and today we're talking about cadence, or the number of steps taken per minute while running...
This is an aspect of running that's too often overlooked, yet it's one of the key points for improving our running technique.
Conventionally, an optimal running cadence is around 180 steps per minute, but always keep in mind that this is just a guideline; it needs to be adapted to each of us as individuals. Remember, we're all different and shouldn't run like robots.
As always, I recommend not making too drastic changes to your technique. It takes weeks and months to assimilate new movements, and if you're not being followed by a qualified person during the transition and you're doing it on your own, it's important to approach it all very carefully and gradually. For example, start by running for 10 minutes with a metronome for the first week, then increase to 15 minutes in the second, and so on. It's also important to make the transition outside of races. If you have a marathon coming up in a month, skip it for now and start the transition after the marathon during your post-race recovery period. 😉💪
Happy running, everyone! #NoLimits #runningtechnique #howtorun #runningtraining
