No "Yo-Yo" healing! Pathfinder's take on toothless D&D mechanics: dying, poison, diseases, skills
It's a widespread criticism that D&D suffers from "pop up healing," where knockouts in a fight don't matter. Poison, diseases, and curses also aren't very impactful, and skills like Medicine don't find much use. This next Pathfinder Law School video covers the Death & Dying rules, afflictions, and the Medicine skill and how they address common complaints about D&D.
