This talk explores concepts popularized by Buckminster Fuller and how they’ve had an impact on me, driving me towards a career in applied geography. The talk also emphasizes the importance of user-focused applied science and how philanthropy can contribute to connecting Earth science to users.
Lauren has worked with NASA’s Applied Sciences Program for the past 12 years, previously serving as the Operations Lead for the DEVELOP Program and now as the Analysis and Coordination Lead for the Capacity Building Program. Since August she’s also been working with a new program, Mission Control Earth, that is exploring how philanthropy can help bridge the gap between science and society.
