Has Marvel SNAP Been Hiding The Split Nerf? Bug or On Purpose?

Since August 20th patch, God Split Results have gone down 59%! Was this intentional or an unexpected bug? It's hard to say with a game that has so many moving parts.
Is some compensation deserved? I'd think so. I feel bad for people like Lauren who spent a lot of resources to get these sought after splits and wound up with less than half of what they'd have statistically deserved.
