NMWP Unconference 2026: Deena Larsen, "Translate and Connect!"
This is a quick announcement and review of Stained Word Windows, a participatory translation work (http://www.deenalarsen.net/sww). Originally, Stained Word Windows was a 1999 java poem in English, archived in Spanish and Catalan by Oreto Doménech i Masià in 2013, and revitalized in the NEXT in 2023. The work is 300 words with 13 nodes. Participants translate the work into their language (or recast it in English), and then work with Deena to connect the nodes. This helps you grok a true sense of the semantic power of connections and link potentials. We hope to translate this work into 100 languages.
