A boy's joy at receiving a Hulk action figure.
I found this story by Taína Alves, a store employee, very beautiful. She saw a boy in the toy section admiring a doll on the shelf...
Below is her account:
"Hey kid, are you going to buy something?"
And he said:
"No, ma'am, I'm just looking."
Me: "Do you like dolls?"
And he said: "Yes, I do... But I really like the Hulk."
"Ma'am, how much does this doll cost?"
And I said: "R$ 79.99."
He said: "Oh, okay! Can I buy it with the money I have?"
(I counted his money... and he had R$ 20.00) then I said:
"You only have R$ 20.00, you still need R$ 60.00 to buy it."
He said: "I can't buy it... my mother would never let me buy a doll like that."
And I said: "Save the money and buy it secretly!"
And he said: "But that's a lot of money, isn't it?" I can.
That broke my heart... After all, I'm a mother and he's the same age as my son.
So he left...
...A few weeks later he came back and went to the same section...
I went there again to talk to him, and he asked me if there was a cheaper Hulk... I replied that there wasn't... That that store only had that one... And he left...
Then I told the whole story to my love... But that was it...
Then one fine day...exactly on Sunday, election day, my husband picked me up from work... When we got there he asked me which doll the boy was always eyeing... And I showed him the Hulk doll. He took the doll, went to the cashier... paid... And told me to give it to him on Children's Day without me saying who had bought it.
All these days passed and he didn't show up at the store anymore...
TODAY I met his brother, and I asked him to give him the message... That I had a present to give him...
He came Running...
There are things in life that no amount of money can buy... HAPPINESS!
