What if the Domino Effect Actually Happened?
During the Vietnam war, the United States government feared that if Vietnam fell to communism, a domino effect would strike Southeast Asia, causing nations like Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and even India to go communist. While this wasn’t exactly the case in our own history, with only Laos and Cambodia falling into dictatorial regimes, there was a great fear that it could possibly happen.
So, what if it did? What if America lost its influence in most of Asia, and what would the other major communist powers do with these new nations?
