Genetically, monkeys are closer to humans compared to other animals. Just like human babies, baby monkeys are called infants, which is only appropriate considering the close genetic makeup of the two species. One fascinating fact about a baby monkey is that it participates in the birthing process. Unlike human infants, infant monkeys would pull itself outside of its mother's body.
This primate is born facing its mother and this positioning at birth helps the infant to pull its body outside to assist the delivery. The newborn baby monkey is then cared for by its mother. If the monkey is monogamous, the infant may have cared for both parents. For socially monogamous monkeys, the males will act as the primary parental caregiver.
Most of the time, it would be the father who would play, feed, and carry the infant. These cute animals like to ride on their parent's back or on top of their parent's shoulder.
