How to change object color in GIMP
Hey guys, welcome back to NGB 2.0 and in this video, I want to show you how you can change object color in GIMP. Now it's actually super easy to change any object color in GIMP. So without further delay, let's get started and see how you can do this. Now to demonstrate this, I've already imported a demo image in the GIMP editor. So this is my demo image present right here and the object whose color I want to change in this particular image is the shirt of this person.
So to do this, we will first create a selection around the shirt using the 'Paths Tool' and then we will change the color. So select the 'Paths Tool' from the toolbox and now let me zoom in my image and let's start creating a selection around the shirt like this.
So this may take a couple of minutes. So take your time.
Now, before you connect the last point with the first point, make sure that you press control on the keyboard and then connect the last point with the first point to complete the loop. Now, what you need to do next is you need to press enter on the keyboard to make the selection active. And now go to the 'Colors' menu and select this option that is 'Colorize'. Now, the moment you click on 'Colorize',
you will see this 'Colorize' dialog open up right here and you can either change the color of your object by changing the values inside the 'Hue', 'Saturation' and 'Lightness' options, or you can directly click on this 'Color' option and select the color which you want. And once you're satisfied with the outcome, you can simply click on 'OK'. And now click on 'OK' once again. And now go to 'Select' and then click on 'None'.
And that's it. So this was how my image was looking earlier. And this is how my image is looking right now. And this is how you can actually change any object color in GIMP.
