After putting on the speculation hat and diving into what I'd like to see in GTA V's next gen release, it's time to go one step further... and speculate about a game that doesn't even officially exist yet! Given all the success Rockstar has found with remasters of their older games, I think it's a pretty safe bet that, given its incredible sales, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be getting a similar, next gen remaster at some point in the near future.
Today, we’ll take a look at what I'd like to see in an enhanced, PS5 and Xbox Series X version of RDR2. When you consider the fact that Red Dead still looks incredible even by 2021 standards, a simple graphical overhaul isn't going to be enough. These machines are backwards compatible after all, so getting players to double dip when they could just pop their last gen disc in, will not be so easy. Once again, I'll be looking at the gaming industry as a whole, and try to apply ideas successfully used by others to Red Dead Redemption II. I'll dive into the technical side of a potential RDR2 upgrade, as well as the more substantial new additions that I think will be necessary to create true hype and excitement. New roles for Red Dead Online, new areas added to the map, and yes, substantial new single player content as well! Would YOU buy a stand alone, quasi sequel to Red Dead?
