Show Hidden Lines vs Hidden Lines Family Parameter Tool Revit Tutorial
In this tutorial, I would like to show you the differences or advantages of the Family Parameter that automatically shows the hidden lines of doors and windows compared to the Show Hidden Lines tool.
As you will see in this video
the most important difference is that when we use the Family Parameter, hidden lines are automatically displayed on facades, sections and all drawings where that window is placed with one click only (sometimes in large projects there are many windows),
while with the Show Hidden Lines tool you have to click on each window individually to each drawing one by one.
Also, if the topography or some other element covering the window, is deleted for any reason, hidden lines drawn with the Show Hidden Lines tool will disappear in all drawings where that window appears and must be drawn again.
While this is not the case with the Hidden Family Lines Parameter.
Hidden lines can disappear only if the window is deleted or switched off in the family.
