“I Didn’t Vote for This” – MAGA Voters Melt Down Over ICE Raids
https://www.buzzfeed.com/michaelabram...
MAGA voters are suddenly shocked by Trump’s ICE raids—now that the deportation machine they cheered for years is rolling through their own communities. In this video, I walk through posts from r/LeopardsAteMyFace and other MAGA spaces: the “lifelong conservative” who’s now “disgusted” that ICE is violating people’s constitutional rights, the Trump voter panicking that their “Latino-looking” kids, friends, and family could be targeted, and the supporter furious after watching a man dragged away by ICE in front of his family at a Home Depot.
Another MAGA voter complains that Trump is deporting “innocent illegal aliens” instead of just “the criminals,” and one insists, “I didn’t vote for this. There’s a huge difference between enforcing immigration laws and targeting vulnerable people.” But this is exactly what they voted for. When you build a system that treats undocumented people as disposable, it doesn’t stay neatly focused on “those people”—it expands, escalates, and eventually hits people who thought they were safe. You wanted a government powerful enough to do this to immigrants. Now you’re watching that same power show up in your own backyard.
