Katie was an athletic skater, but another who had trouble with the transition from child to young lady. Very personable, but I thought the TV commentators did her a grave public relations disservice, dwelling repeatedly on her request for a pink HUMMER for her 16th birthday. Now I know people can spend their money any way they like, and you don't need to be playing this figure skating game without a huge bank account; but the fan base was somewhat put off by the apparent ridiculousness of such an attitude. First off, it was incredibly bad for the environment, and secondly it's hard to feel sympathy or concern with someone who might actually expect such a gift. Skater's should remember to channel Dorothy Hamill's modesty.......sometimes it's possible to know to much about a person.
