A physicist by training, he worked as the editor of the prose, poetry, and journalism section of the magazine "Art of Leningrad" (since 1992, "Ars"). He teaches the history of classical and Western European literature at Nekrasov Pedagogical College No. 1, lectures to auditors on the history of Russian poetry and world literature, the history of mentality, teaches a seminar on the Gospel, and runs a literary studio at the Writers' House on Zvenigorodskaya Street 22. He is also the curator of the literary and artistic online almanac "Folioverso." He has been publishing since 1983 and is the author of eight books. He has participated in several international and national conferences on literature and cultural studies.
