Big Ridge Solutions, an Idaho based company has taken phased array thickness scanning to new depths. They have broken records for total number of miles scanned with a Sonatest WP2 wheel probe.
The company was asked to perform an inspection that was previously thought to be impossible. A 3-sided scan totaling approximately 72,000 feet of encoded, phased array thickness readings.
The project which was completed in a total of 9 days, utilized the most advanced thickness scanning equipment available. A total of 256 ultrasonic elements in 3 separate ultrasonic probes were utilized in conjunction with 2 Sonatest PAUT Machines.
