For Cinematographer Alice Brooks, whose previous work includes the film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights, working on tick, tick…BOOM! allowed her to revisit
and recreate the New York City of her youth. “I lived in New York until the summer of 1989. My dad was a playwright, my mom was an actress, and we lived in a tenement apartment with a bathtub in the kitchen,” she reminisces. Alice shares a little more about her inspirations for tick, tick…BOOM! and talks through some of her favorite scenes and explains how she framed and captured THAT SHOT!
