Colorado Spring Football 2026: Coach Prime on Dominiq Ponder & First Presser Recap
Colorado Spring Football 2026 kicks off with a mix of heavy hearts and high expectations. In this episode, we recap the emotional memorial service for junior quarterback Dominiq Ponder and dive into the key takeaways from Coach Prime’s first press conference of the spring season.
Coach Deion Sanders opened up about the loss of Ponder, a "bonafide leader" in the QB room, and how the team is balancing grief with the "responsibility to keep moving forward." We discuss the candlelight vigil at Folsom Field, the team's plan to wear a commemorative patch this season, and Prime’s message on mental health and supporting one another through tragedy.
On the field, the Colorado Buffaloes are undergoing a massive transformation. We break down the first week of Spring Practice, including:
The New Coordinators: Why Coach Prime believes this is the best staff he’s ever assembled, featuring OC Brennan Marion and the new "Go-Go" offense.
The 30-Point Threshold: Prime’s blunt new rule for winning in 2026.
Wide Receiver Overhaul: Why the room is "3x better" than last year and the explosive talent of players like Julian Lewis and the new transfer class.
No Special Teams Coordinator? Why Deion is taking a "head coach of the unit" approach this season.
