SAMBA/FSTAB - Turn openSUSE into a Simple Linux Storage, Plex, jellyfin, Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr
In this video, I walk through setting up a Samba share on openSUSE Tumbleweed and mounting it automatically with /etc/fstab. This is a follow-up to my media backup setup, showing how I connect two Linux servers together for home lab storage, Jellyfin media access, and backup workflows.
We cover installing Samba, creating a Samba-only user, setting permissions, sharing a folder, testing access from Dolphin, installing cifs-utils, adding the remote share to fstab, and verifying the mount survives a reboot. The video also shows a few real-world mistakes and fixes along the way, like missing mount paths and permission issues.
