Lake Huron Fishery Workshop
A spring fishery workshop in Alpena tonight offered current research and information related to the status of the Lake Huron fishery. In recent years, the fishery has undergone dramatic ecological changes due to invasive species. The Lake Huron fisheries workshop, which was free and open to the public, provided valuable information to anglers, charter captains, resource professionals and other community members on food web changes, fishing strategies and much more. These research and management efforts have resulted in improving attitudes and value in what lake Huron fishing has to offer. Tonight was one of three workshops offered; more than 90 people were in attendance. The next will be in Cedarville, Michigan Wednesday night from 6-9 p.m.
